This was the 1997 Christmas cover for the Plow &
Hearth catalog.  I found this setting on a back road
in Madison County, Virginia, one of my favorite
places to search for peaceful pastoral landscapes.  I
enjoyed playing with lighting effects while painting
this cozy winter scene with glowing cabin lights.
