| Here I have portrayed a trio of Black Ducks dropping into a pond on the edge of the Cape Fear River in eastern North Carolina. In the background you can see the remnant of Price's Creek Lighthouse that was destroyed during the civil war. The Black is a prize duck in the Eastern flyway. I made it to this spot during a frontal passage on a December evening, and just in the nick of time, I caught the last rays of evening light as they hit the marsh and turned it to gold. |
