| This pastoral scene is located in Orange Virginia just up the road from where I used to live. I was in a shopping mall show when I was working on this painting, and an old farmer walked up to look. He asked me if I knew what the sack was for. I replied, I don't know. He said its for dropping insecticide dust on the cows as they walk into the barn to eat. It was good information for me to know. So I called the painting "Dust Sack". Unfortunately, the nice barn and meadow are no longer there as I painted them. There is now a water treatment plant where the beautiful scene once was. |
