The setting for this painting was taken from deep in the swamps on the outskirts
of Lake Maurapaus in south Louisiana, not far from where I was born.  We
traveled several miles by morotized bateau, and then switched over to our
pirogues when it was time to get to our blinds through the shallow cypress
swamp that was teeming with mallards, widgeon. and duckweed.
