| I was commissioned by the state of North Carolina to create this scene of a father, son and family dog for the 2002 North Carolina Duck Stamp. The setting is Pamlico Sound on the coast of North Carolina. We went out into the impoundment and staged a mock hunt where I took photos as reference for the painting. Everything here is authentic except for the shooting of birds. It was the week before the opening of duck season and the area was filled with pintail and widgeon. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
